Jacob the Elf

This year, you had a friend come visit the first day of December. He was an elf sent straight from Santa! You named him Jacob. Each night, he would go back to the North Pole, but would be back in the morning when you woke up. He brought you a lot of fun things throughout the month and you loved him. It was so fun to see your reaction each morning when you would find him doing his daily escapades - especially when he came bearing a gift! It was a fun way to get in the spirit and Jacob became a good buddy for you to take along with you places. You did surprisingly well when you had to say goodbye to him on Christmas Eve. But, we know that he will be back next year, so it's something to look forward to!

Preschool Christmas Program 2013

I was so excited for Jameson's Christmas program this year! However, I honestly had a hard time comprehending that he is old enough to be participating in a Christmas Program! Every night leading up to it, we would talk to him about what he was going to sing and he was always practicing his singing at home! This definitely got me very excited. He is not a shy kid at all, but I was very curious to see how he would do in front of a large crowd.

Well, he did wonderfully...and was quite the entertainer! During the first song, which was Jingle Bells, he did great singing along and shaking the bells with everyone else. The second song was where it got pretty entertaining! Mrs. Briggs took the bells away after Jingle Bells, so I guess Jameson decided that he needed to do something else to entertain everyone! He slowly started to veer off on his own. He began to stomp to the beat, so we all thought maybe that was what he was supposed to be doing. But, he just kept inching further away from the rest of the group and before long started dancing to his own beat! He had us all laughing at the cuteness! It makes sense that my kid would veer off to the side and dance by himself...sounds just like his mom :).

After the program, we enjoyed some cookies and punch and talked about what a great job he did.  He seemed to have a great time singing and clearly wasn't shy in front of a crowd either! It was so much fun watching him sing (and dance!) and I just love his little spirit and personality. He always makes me smile and this was no exception.

  • First Song: Jingle Bells - I love how in the beginning he says, "Where's Mommy?" So cute!

  • Second Song: Gloria - and this is where I can hardly hold the camera still because I may have been laughing just a little!

Handsome boy!

Happy Turkey Day!!

I have so much to be thankful for and I don't really need a day to tell me that! However, it is nice to be able to spend one day solely focusing on the many blessings.  This year was a little different because Dan and Kim went to visit the Gibsons. So, the night before Thanksgiving, we went over to Kelly and Derek's for dinner and then spent Thanksgiving evening with my family. Very low key, but lots of fun and relaxing!

My family - immediate, in-laws, far away- is my entire world, so it makes sense to focus on them and spend as much time as possible with them on Thanksgiving. As I said, I am thankful each and every day for my blessings and I take nothing for granted when it comes to how blessed I am. My children have my whole heart and Thanksgiving is just another day to thank God for them.

Definitely not how I used to spend Black Wednesdays, but I can't imagine spending it
anywhere but with my babies!
