Superhero Birthday Party!

What an awesome birthday party for an awesome little Superhero! A lot of planning and preparing went into what was supposed to be an informal, small birthday party. Who am I kidding? I love doing this stuff, so of course, I went a little overboard as usual. I could spend hours doing this stuff though and if it makes you happy, I would spend days!

Leading up to this party, Batman was the top superhero in your book. We thought about doing just a Batman, but then decided to include all superheroes and go for the Superhero theme. Thank goodness, because about a week before your party, you decided that Spider-Man was your new favorite. You became quite obsessed, so I am glad that I had all kinds of Superhero stuff for the party supplies. The only thing we were missing was a Spider-Man costume, but Aunt Nicole took care of that on your birthday!

The morning of your party was exciting. We woke up and had some breakfast and then went to the store to pick up all your goodies. We then went to Sugar Mama to pick up your Batman cake pops! You were SO excited about them and really wanted to thank the "cake pop lady." So cute! Once we were done, we went home to start the decorating and preparing. You had a blast watching Daddy hang the Superheroes from the fan and watching me hang up the Superheroes all over the house. Definitely got you super excited for your party! We had some lunch and watched a show and then tucked you in for a nap. You needed your rest in order to become a Superhero for your party!

When you woke up, Daddy helped you become Spider-Man! You came downstairs and about died when you saw the big Spider-Man balloon! It was so adorable. You thought it was the coolest thing! And, you just kept giggling! So cute. You were also very excited to see your Spider-Man cake and all the rest of the goodies. Then the fun began - people started to arrive. We encouraged all kids to come in costumes or Superhero gear, so it was so fun to see everyone as they walked in. You and Braden had matching costumes and you just thought that was the coolest!

The party was a huge success. We had a lot of activities for kids to play with, some fun masks and costumes for them to dress up in and tons of other toys to play with. We had lots of good Superhero food and delicious cake and ice cream to top it all off! You loved having everyone sing Happy Birthday to you and even sang a little yourself (this video makes me smile so big - you are just too cute for words: http://youtu.be/CQRe5FlsKbA)! You got a ton of cool presents, so it was fun to watch you open everything. You were such a nice boy and let people help you open your presents, too (http://youtu.be/oKM7iBzG9kU and http://youtu.be/UidP4e19B4c).  After cake, all the kids just ran around like crazy until people started to leave. Both sets of grandparents and the Hahns stayed for quite a bit after everyone left, so you had a blast playing around with them.

You seemed to really enjoy your party! It is so fun to do this stuff for you because watching the joy exude from you is so worth every ounce of time, effort and money we put into it. You deserved a party fit for a Superhero, so I was going to deliver! You are our special little Superhero and I live to make you happy. Happy Birthday, Spidey :).
